There are many unrevealed secrets about the true nature of Damodar. We can't get unto many of them yet, but we still have some goodies for you, like Big D's snazzy armor, his Dragon Claw Guantlet, and His Bastard Sword! Enjoy! Damodar is a fascinating character, and in true D&D fashion he has acquired over the years some very unique and useful items. These items also give us an insight into his mind. Because of the history of the world where the nation of Izmer resides, Dragons and Draconic imagery are at the core. It is quite common to see the motif of Dragon symbols used throughout the empire, especially in the capitol city of Sumdall. Gold Dragons are a recurring theme throughout the royal palace. The empress' royal gown is specifically designed to recall the power and majesty of the Gold Dragon. There is a difference however between using Draconic imagery and ACTUALLY wearing items made from Dragons! Dragons are highly revered, and though not worshipped, even evil species are considered somewhat sacred by the general populace of Izmer. Therefore the fact that Damodar proudly strides around the nation wearing armor made from the hide of a Black Dragon sends a clear signal to others that this is a man who is not afraid to profane the sacred traditions, and thus, a very dangerous man. It is whispered, though not in his presence, that he actually killed the dragon whose hide he now wears; another unspeakable act within the framework of this world. Damodar has done nothing to counter these rumors. His armor functions as Scale mail, +2 and is magically enchanted to manifest it's natural ability to resist damage from acid (50% damage/25% with save), as well as providing a +2 bonus to all of his saves. It is lightweight and does not impair his mobility as badly as normal scale.
Damodar's Black Dragon Armor Armor Bonus: +6 (same as scale, +2), Max Dex Bonus: +6 (same as leather), Armor Check Penalty: 0, Arcane Spell Failure: %10, Speed 30/20, weight: 20 lb. Note: half damage from acid, save for 1/4, +2 bonus to all saves. Damodar's Armor is not the only profane trophy claimed from the dragon. He wears on his arm what many believe to be only a ceremonial gauntlet, but is in fact one of Damodar's favorite weapons. By a means that only he knows, he can cause three razor sharp blades to spring forth from the back of the gauntlet, extending forward nearly 10 inches from the back of his forearm to well beyond his outstretched hand. The blades can be used to slash to great effect or to punch through softer materials like clothing and flesh, however Damodar's favorite tactic is to press the gauntlet against an unsuspecting foe and release the blades with great force into the victim. this attack, if successful, is almost always fatal. The weapon can also be used to parry attacks with great success. The gauntlet is made of a special alloy and extremely strong, but the blades themselves were actually carved from the removed claws of the same Black Dragon he harvested the hide from.
Damodar's Black Dragon Gauntlet Hit roll +2, Damage: 1d8 +2 (special), Critical: x2, Range Increment: none, Weight: 3 lb., Special: If blades are released into unprotected opponent, damage is doubled and Crit multiplier increases to x4. Damodar's primary weapon is an intelligent, evil aligned bastard sword, created for him by Profion. It was given intelligence by summoning a demon and imprisoning it within the sword, but so far the only abilities that Damodar has been able to coax from it are Detect Magic and Detect Enemy.
Damodar's Bastard Sword ( Magical) Hit roll +2, Damage: 1d10 +2 (special), Critical:19-20 x2, Weight: 10 lb., Special: Continual Detect Magic, 10 ft radius; Detect Enemy,30 ft radius, 3x per day.
