The DND article is rather large so I have just typed out the "Bruce Payne" bits so you can read what is mentioned about him.
taken from page 28 ( ...on makeup... ) The DND assignment has been split into three separate areas: creature suits, puppets and the makeup. "Some of the principal actors are in makeup and that has taken up most of our daily schedule. Damodar gets infected with the ultimate evil visualized as a parasite growing in his head. It was originally planned as a prosthetic which worked in sketch form but when executed made Bruce look like Mr.Potato Head. Panic set in and we spent 24 hours devising a look where the infection starts at the base of his neck, creeps up the sides of his ears, makes them swell up, goes around the back of his head and causes black poison to dribble from his mouth.
